At 24 mm the lens shows a significant amount of barrel distortion reaching almost 3 %. The distortion flips over to the pincushion type at 40 mm and with roughly 1 % can be an issue with certain subjects. At 70 mm the pincushion distortion is down to 0.5%, which can be considered distortion-free for most photographic applications.
If it is "AF-S 24-70mm f / 2.8 G ED VR" you are talking about, be aware that the focus motor often needs to be changed p.gr.a. wear if it is used over many years. Personally I do not want to walk around with the old 24-70 / 2.8G + FTZ on a vacation, due to weight and size. The 24-70mm F2.8 covers an effective focal length range of 36-105mm on Nikon's APS-C DSLRs, but this weather-sealed lens is most at home on full-frame cameras like the D800 and professional D4. Optical construction comprises 15 elements in 11 groups, and includes 3 ED (extra low-dispersion) elements, three aspherical elements, and Nano Crystal

Measurement: Super sharp, f/4 to f/11. Overall DxOMark scores for the Tokina 24-70mm f/2.8 Nikon range from a top score of 32 points on the 36Mp D800E, dropping to 28 points on the 24Mp D600 / D750, and 20 points on the 12Mp D700 / D3. The lower scores achieved on the DSLRs with fewer pixels is almost completely due to its lens sharpness

This is an in-depth review of the Nikon AF-S 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G VR lens that was released back in August 2006 together with the Nikon D80. Why you can trust TechRadar We spend hours testing every product or service we review, The Nikon AF-S 24-70mm f/2.8E ED VR is frankly enormous and the Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM doesn’t

The Samyang 24-70mm f/2.8 zoom excels in its sharpness, with centre-to-corner uniformity well-maintained across both the zooming range and the aperture range. There is a slight fall-off at 24mm and f/2.8, but it’s truly minimal and the Samyang lens undoubtedly performs competitively here with its pricier rivals. Image 1 of 3. Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 24-70mm f/2.8E ED VR Price: $2200 What I Liked. Great build quality; The most comfortable to use; I'm not picking on you, I just don't know why any review mentions it. Re: Tamron 24-70mm f2.8 G2 on Z6. I dont actually use the Tamron on the Z6 as the F4 nikon is a great lens and produces the reults I want. The IQ of the Tamron on the D850 is very good ( initially I had to use the Tap in console to achieve these reults.

This Nikon 70-300mm VR was the latest of many 70-300mm range zooms from Nikon back in 2006, and today is replaced by the 70-300mm AF-P VR DX or 70-300 AF-P VR FX which have faster autofocus but little to no compatibility with older cameras. Please read the rest of this review knowing I wrote it in 2006 before the newer lenses existed. Full review. The AF-S Micro Nikkor 60mm f/2.8 G ED is the latest in a long line of macro lenses from Nikon. Capable of true 1:1 reproduction, it features internal focusing, which provides faster, smoother autofocusing and also eliminates barrel length changes. And, because the front element doesn’t rotate, users can fit angle-critical filters j2nuQF.
