Guys, i have after 4 hours found a temporary solution to getting us all back driving again with our ds4 controllers. Go into the controller configs within steam for the game ETS 2, change the config from "Official config" to the one thats titled "official configuration by SCS Software" then go into the game and run the input option and choose "Steam".

Test that both pedal are being detected as an analogue inputs. If they just appear as on/off buttons it means one of 2 things. The pedals are not analogue and will be either on or off with no range in between those values. The drivers are not working. If it's the latter try un-installing the drivers and starting again. Now you have to search for the file controls.sii inside your profiles or steam_profiles folder (depending on your settings). Bevor we edit this file open ets2 and configure your controllers. use you sixth controller as the last in the list (should be the fith) and configure the buttons you want. Now set the correct controller as fiths controller.
Same problem here. I came back to the game after a half year pause, and now the overlay freezes every time in 64-bit directx (Win7 64-bit). It worked flawlessly before and as I am still running the same ETS2 1.28 with no changes to mods, I suspect the reason is a recent update to Steam client. I opted out of Steam beta, but it did not help.
The old force feedback was a group of artificially set up effects, each of them having its own effect force that had to be sent to the device within the main game loop. Meanwhile, the new FFB is written from scratch and utilizes a 120 Hz refresh rate, independent from the main game loop. It combines some of the old artificial effects with the
1) F11 issue. As Frayner mentioned, this switches where the game is being displayed. It should carry from session to session, but sometimes you need to change the game focus. 2) Window focus. This causes either a black screen or that weird disconnecting floating feeling where you sre in VR but head tracking etc is off.
