While browsing a local gun shop today, I ran across a VZ-58 that looked to be in very good condition. Since I know very little about about AK's in general, I went home and did some research and discovered that a VZ-58 is in fact, not an AK-47 variant. I had allready made up my mind to buy an
It comes down to money. vz 58's going to cost a lot more, but it will be better. The wasr is still good though. My opinion, get both and have experience with both types of actions. You can use the vz 58 as a more serious rifle and use the wasr for a cheap/fun/truck rifle that you can do whatever to. Just get a wasr that is in decent shape.
Dawg180 said: Can an AK pistol grip easily be modified to work on a VZ-58, or is it almost a straight swap? Thanks, Dawg. you need to remove the PG retainer plate . i have done a few , be careful around the the trigger guard , after that its a straight swap. AK PG screw will work with the VZ square nut.
Differences between the VZ 58 Sporter and the AK-47. The VZ 58 has a milled receiver, the AK-47 is stamped. Even with the milled receiver it is almost one pound lighter than a stamped AK-47. The bolt of the VZ 58 stays open after the last round in the magazine has been fired. The VZ 58 has a more natural point of aim and is faster handling.

Of the two mags on the left side of the pic, the furthest left one (black) is a typical AK mag, the one on the right (bueish in color) is a VZ-58 mag. Of the two in the middle, the top one is a VZ-58, with the follower, spring, and
Well, for all AK type guns they're imported as a single stack, and then the importer mills out the receiver to accept double stack magazines. Vz58 magazines are proprietary and regular AK magazines won't work. Save yourself the money and buy a regular AK. You won't regret it.
Jan 3, 2022. #16/46. I went back and forth the day Atlantic sent the email out. I'm signed up for an in-stock notification since they said they will be getting more. Import availability moving forward is going to be a question mark which is why I'm tempted to move now. I've wanted a vz58 for a while since I appreciate Czech arms, and Cold War

The VZ is lighter, more ergonomic and more customizable. It’s already got an AK style mount which hold zero really well. I’d like an Mini 14 but I don’t like the fact that the parts are cast and it was never fielded by a military. Plus I think the accuracy is on par with the VZ-58.
I love the vz.58 in its original, weird epoxied wood chip furniture glory. The only issue I ever saw with the real select-fire ones I got to train with during my .mil days was that auto or rapid semi auto fire, they got really hot -- this is a problem with any rifle or carbine, but it seemed like the 58s got hotter faster than M4s, AKs, and the other foreign stuff we had on hand for training.
The vz. 58 is a 7.62×39mm assault rifle designed and manufactured in Czechoslovakia and accepted into service in the late 1950s as the 7,62 mm samopal vzor 5

I would really like to purchase a vz. 58. I live in a ban state, and it looks like CSA is the only manufacturer who offers ban state models. I like to plan my purchases out in advance, so I've been looking at the vz. 58 aftermarket, and the item descriptions I'm seeing suggest that there is a lot of receiver variability between the various manufacturers of vz. 58s.

For SBR, you are better off going with the VZ58 pistol, since you are will be getting an 11.9" barrelthere really isn't any point to getting the VZ58 rifle to chop the barrel. Getting the pistol will allow you to shoot it as a pistol until your paperwork arrives. In most states, you are legally able to carry a pistol for protection if your
