The question is on the tin. To the English Redditors. Why is it that the letter āZā is pronounced āZedā and why is it that Americans pronounce it āZeeā?
Sort of, it's just the way British English pronounces zebra can't be emulated in American English because the hard Z (zed) is automatically promoted to a soft Z (zee). British English can emulate the American English way via "zeebra" (Americans won't see any difference in pronunciation)
N-Z-X-T When you hear people say zed it's because english people pronounce "Z" as "zed" and americans pronounce it as "zee." Either is correct. I've never heard anyone connect the letters to form a word, that seems silly.

Just because we pronounce the letter Z as "zed" doesnt mean we change the titles of things. Dragon Ball Z is a name, so it's pronounced one way only. A good example is Anna from Frozen. If you pronounce her name with the first A as long and nasally, that's just wrong. Even if your name is spelt the same way, the pronunciation is an absolute.

In the automotive world I am pretty arbitrary. I would say "Nissan Three Fifty Zee" but then also say "Camaro Zed Twenty Eight". I do say Dragonball Zee.
